Inserting the BioMers Arch Wire

To illustrate the ease at which the BioMers wire is inserted into a patient's mouth, a series of images were taken of a patient wearing aesthetic brackets. The BioMers wire was inserted as the first wire in the alignment phase to demonstrate tooth movement.

Wire Insertion:

Wire inserted into the buccal tube

Completion of wire insertion
The clinician first inserts the wire into the buccal tubes and then gently pushes the wire until contact is made with the bracket slot of the central incisors.

Wire Ligation and Wire Cutting:

Wire ligation

Wire cutting
Except for the lateral incisors, the clinician pushes the arch wire into the bottom of each bracket slot before applying the clear elastomeric ligatures. The excess wire length stemming from the buccal tube is removed using a distal end cutter.

Cut wire
The wire is cut flush to the buccal tube to prevent accidental poking of the patient.

Bracket Engagement:

Bracket engagement of the right lateral incisor

Bracket engagement complete
To guard against bracket debonding, the clinician gently pushes the arch wire into the bottom of the bracket slot using his finger and then makes a passive ligation. This process is repeated to the other lateral incisor.
