NUS medical student wins free orthodontic treatment from BioMers
Singapore – 25 January 2011
BioMers Pte Ltd has announced the winner of the SimpliClear contest, organized around the Back to School Carnival at the National University of Singapore held from 20-21 January 2011. The winner, Ms. Lynette Goh, aged 23 will receive free treatment with SimpliClear braces worth 5,500 SGD. SimpliClear is the world’s only completely clear braces system developed by BioMers.
Ms Goh is currently a fourth year student at the faculty of medicine at NUS. Her entry to the contest where participants had to state why they wanted orthodontic treatment with SimpliClear was a poem describing why she wanted treatment. When contacted on winning the contest, Ms Goh said, "I am very excited to win my SimpliClear braces treatment free. I have always wanted to straighten my teeth because I interact with many people on a day to day basis. Straight teeth will give me the confidence to interact with them without feeling self-conscious". Ten runners-up were also awarded with a voucher for 1,000 SGD each for their SimpliClear braces treatment.
SimpliClear braces are completely clear and hence almost invisible. The major innovation is the clear polymer composite wire, which the orthodontic industry has sought to develop over decades. BioMers solved this problem with SimpliClear, which is clinically proven and applicable to a wide variety of teeth malocclusion.
Dr. Mervyn Fathianathan, CEO of BioMers, commented: "We had more than 75 entries for the competition. It shows that a significant number of people are interested in getting their teeth straightened. The participants were excited at the ability to straighten their teeth with a virtually invisible braces system."

The winning entry by Ms. Lynette Goh:
To be able to greet the people I meet,
With a perfect smile that's bright and sweet,
To exude confidence during presentation,
And smile widely without hesitation,
To ace interviews with a good impression,
A beautiful smile is my best weapon!
Be it singing, dancing, acting or debating,
A great smile would help in winning!
To get the straight teeth I've always wanted,
Translucent braces I’ve always hunted
Although metal braces are cheaper and all,
They’d make me feel self conscious and small
I really want to get BioMers Braces / SimpliClear,
Santa please come early this year!
